Are you good with numbers? Have a high rate of accuracy? Exceptional attention to detail? Knowledgeable of federal and state tax laws? Experience with payroll software? We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk with 2+ years of payroll experience. You will play a key role in processing payroll, ensuring employees are compensated accurately and on time, and maintaining compliance with legal and organizational standards. Must be proficient with working knowledge of software packages such as UKG, Kronos, ADP, etc. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, proven Microsoft Excel technical skills, and payroll and accounting functions. Responsibilities (partial listing):
- Processes Agency’s weekly payroll for hourly, salaried, fee-for-service, and per diem employees; including reviewing hours from time and attendance system, administering regulatory requirements, e.g., garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, and other adjustments to pay as necessary.
- Calculates wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions accurately.
- Maintains and updates employee records in payroll/HRIS systems.
- Point of contact for all employees regarding any payroll issues and/or concerns.
- Administers the time and attendance policy and paid leave policy for all employees.
- Provides back up to Accounts Payable regarding contract billing.
- Performs other administrative duties for the Finance Office.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., UKG Ready) is a plus.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Strong numerical skills and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
