Under the new Trump administration, trade, Indo-Pacific security, and Taiwan's future are set to shape the trajectory of U.S.-China relations. Recent escalations in trade disputes, technological rivalry, and military tensions highlight the urgency of these challenges. Randall Schriver, former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs will discuss recent developments and what lies ahead for relations between the two countries in conversation with Professor Jennifer Lind. Randall Schriver is a Partner at Pacific Solutions LLC, with past roles including Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs. A former Navy Intelligence Officer, he has extensive experience in U.S. security policy, particularly in the Indo-Pacific, and has served in senior roles at the Pentagon, State Department, and U.S. embassies abroad. Mr. Schriver holds degrees from Williams College and Harvard University and has received numerous honors, including the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service and Taiwan’s Order of the Propitious Clouds.
